Hi folks,

I'm having a hard time creating custom shapes.

It is ok creating the shape by itself, but I want to add connection
points that glues to existing connection points when I place my shape.

I use Visio Cafe's IBM rack shapes, which defines connection point for
each rack unit placement.

created a shape made of basic drawing tools, the, made a group with that.

Then I added connection points at the exact position of the existing
points of the other shape.

But when I place my shape, I do not get the red square highliting and
glueing the connection points that matches my dragging.

Thanks for your help.

Ok I reply to myself.

The trick is to convert the group to 1-D shape, via the Format > Behavior menu.
Then you will get endpoints in the middle of the shape, you can put
them either on top or bottom using the Window > Show ShapeSheet, an
changing the value for the Shape Transform > LocPin* values
